Exterior Process
Exterior painting is one of our specialties. We use only top quality paint and cleaning materials and take care to ensure that each step of the process is handled with complete professionalism.

Before starting to paint, we
  • Pressure wash entire home to clean dirt, mildew, and chaulking.
  • Scrape and sand all areas that are bare or peeling. 
  • Spot-prime all bare surfaces with oil based primer to ensure substrate is sealed.
  • Prime wood knots, acids and oils with shellac based product to prevent them from bleeding through the finish coat.
  • Spot-prime rusted metal with rust-inhibiting primer.
  • Scuff sand existing glossy paint to remove sheen and ensure proper adhesion.
  • Caulk all gaps and seams with siliconized latex caulking to prevent moisture damage.
  • Remove or mask hardware, exterior lighting, windows, and doors to protect them from paint.
Once the surface is prepared we

Begin by painting siding by hand exclusively or with a spray application, which is then back –brushed. To ensure that a full coat of paint is applied to the remaining surfaces that require much more detail than siding (Trim on windows, doors, doorframes, fascia, soffits and decorative trim), using a brush is the only way to apply for the highest quality finish.

Additional coats my be necessary for color changes, especially when going to or from yellow, (2) two coats are required.

Clean-up
 
We make sure that we leave your home or business in state in which we found it. That means that we:
  • Remove all masking used in paint preparation.
  • Replace all your furniture or equipment moved during the painting process.
  • Ensure that all our equipment and materials are removed from your property, and dispose of any garbage, litter or paint chips that have accumulated from the job.
  • Leave you with a small quantity of paint so that you can match it for future projects, or use it for touch-ups.
